About me
Dawn Tefft works as a union representative and organizer, volunteers as a Lead Organizer and Advanced Organizer for the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC), and volunteers with the Federal Unionists Network (FUN). She has helped develop and facilitate labor trainings for various unions at the national, state, and local levels, EWOC, Labor Notes, and Rutger University's LEARN program. She has written for Labor Notes and Teen Vogue and contributed to EWOC's Unite & Win: The Workplace Organizer's Handbook. She is also a poet, and her poetry book Once Upon a Riot came out last year through Match Factory Editions. This October, her poems will be included in Poetry magazine’s folio "Radical Poets of the Midwest," edited by Haymarket poetry editor, Maya Marshall. She is thrilled to participate as both a trainer and a lifelong learner at this year's conference, who owes a great deal to labor and social justice conferences of past years for having shaped her and her contemporaries.
