About me
Bo Belotti is a community organizer from Virginia and first year Masters of Public Policy student at Georgetown University. Bo has spent the last 10 years engaged in movement work, starting with their local school board while they were still in high school. They attended Virginia Commonwealth University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and LGBTQ studies, where they focused their research on the class mobility of transgender and gender nonconforming people in the US South. During their time at VCU they were awarded the Gavin Grimm Courage Award and nominated for the Burnside Watstein Award for his work in LGBTQ rights in Virginia. Across urban, suburban and rural Virginia, Bo engaged in grassroots organizing and legislative advocacy, including co-authoring multiple model policies. His research and professional experience range across several issue areas, all of which are connected through social justice. His goal is to find ways to empower communities to influence policy that impacts them. Placing him right at the intersection of research, community organizing, and policy.
