Political education begins from reality: we need to first understand the world in order to change it. This workshop provides a basic grounding in principles of participatory education, the dynamic relationship between our ideas and material reality, and an understanding of Gramsci’s concept of hegemony before inviting participants to collectively map the interlocking repressive and carceral structures we confront every day.
