The historic victory of Afro-Asian Muslim socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani in NYC in 2025 was won in part by the NYC Muslim community, which mobilized in mass and has birthed an anti-imperialist ecosocialist Muslim Left. This panel will share and explore the ideological and organizational underpinnings of this new political formation as well as reflect upon the messy grappling with contradictions that comes with building counter-hegemonic power.
