Daniella Mazzio is an award-winning culture journalist and film critic. Her coverage of federal arts funding cuts won the 2026 AAN Award for Best Long Form Arts Feature and was a finalist for a 2026 Peter Lisagor Award. Her writing has been seen in the Chicago Reader, RogerEbert.com, In Review Online, Indiewire, Autostraddle, and more. She is also the host of the intermittent podcast "Hand Me the Mike," covering the work of actor Michael Shannon. She was previously recognized in 2025 with a CFCA/Rotten Tomatoes Emerging Critic grant. Daniella is additionally an experienced nonprofit consultant, having worked with dozens of organizations, collectives, and foundations. She has consulted on communications, accessibility, and grantmaking. She serves on Plant Chicago's Board of Directors and is a member of Disability Lead's professional network.
